Bespoke Semi-Independent Housing
Committed Care Housing provide short to medium term placements and support transitions into independent living. We will consider emergency placements on a case-by-case basis after reviewing risk assessment and the needs of the referred young person. We provide support mechanisms for young people with Emotional Needs, Behavioural Difficulties and Mild Learning Disabilities. We will assess the needs of each individual and provide bespoke support plans through our Management team and continued liaisons & planning alongside with referring & partnership agencies.
SERVICES
The accommodation operate with an ethos value and boundaries that all go towards providing a safe structural, homely and nurturing environment for vulnerable young people seeking transitioning towards independence and individual sustainability socially and economically. Our flexible approach addresses the varying needs of young people and offer a range of services to those that are ‘looked after’ and subject to Voluntary, Interim and Full Care Orders and/or those with bail/remand conditions, or Detention and Training Orders who require accommodation upon their release. Committed Care Housing provides support and help to young people who may have long absences from education. For those remanded in the care of the Local Authority, and those who seek an alternative to secure accommodation a placement will be offered for the duration required to fulfil identified care needs.
Not all young people have the same start in life, but we believe all young people are entitled to support and opportunity and through our non-judgemental approach and tailor made support plans we aim to build positive experiences with the young people.
Throughout their time with Committed Care Housing we will endeavour to create/re-establish a foundation where they can graduate to varied levels of independence which will in turn aid in their transition to adult life. Our tailor-made support plans will encourage positive progression and vital life skills will be taught to increase their ability to secure and keep permanent accommodation.
KEYWORKERS
Committed Care Housing is adequately equipped & staffed to manage the behaviours of young people effectively thus enabling them to participate fully in society. We understand that young people often ‘act out’ when they begin to let go of wounds they may have, and that they may test the adults around them as they have been let down by others many times. Our team is robust, persistent and have the expertise to support a young person who is both emotionally and physically in crisis.
At Committed Care Housing we endeavour to make sense of how the young person has learnt to behave in certain ways. Empathy lets the young person feel the adult’s compassion for them. We ensure that the young people are aware that their life is important and they will be supported in their hard times.
Key workers are there 24 hours to assist the young person in anyway in a non-judgemental way.
THERAPEUTIC SERVICES
We are able to offer therapeutic support where required and our team members will assist to ensure that young people within our service benefit from intervention & support. It is our experience that by utilising integrative models of therapy (Cognitive Behavioural, Humanistic and Psychodynamic approaches), we can better support and address the needs of young people who can present as challenging, within a residential setting. With Committed Care Housing all young people are assigned a keyworker who displays patience, commitment, respect and whilst maintaining clear professional boundaries.
TRUST AND SECURITY
Our placements create a safe haven to young people, where they express themselves in a non-judgemental environment. They may have trust issues due to their prior life experiences but will endeavour to combat these fears that they have though different methods and to make them feel secure at all times. At the same time their futures will be discussed with them so goals can be set and achieved in relation to training, employment, apprenticeships. We will give them hope and a thirst to aspire for more.
